History

The Salida Pregnancy Resource Center has a long history of service to the families of Salida. The Center was incorporated in 1989 and is a 501c3 tax-exempt organization. A group of moms began as MOMS for Moms to provide support for women and families facing an unplanned pregnancy. They trained themselves to help support and educate expecting parents and they gathered donations of baby clothes, supplies, and diapers. Since those humble beginnings, The SPRC has grown to offer many other opportunities to be supported before, during, and after pregnancy. We now have two paid staff and several volunteers on site. We have been supported from the beginning through local churches and private donations as well as some private grants.
